ABOUT MARY

My approach
I was born in western Kansas and I was homeschooled I loved playing Oregon Trail. I watched my father code in MS-dos for most of my childhood. I watched the internet come alive. I was told about the algorithms. From my father. I watched data surveillance roll out post 9/11. I disconnected from the internet. I did not engage with social media. I got married. I moved to Colorado and I lived in the country, I did the homestead life. I thought I was fighting the machine by not engaging with the machine. 2017 cryptopunks free to claim is released. I read about this digital art form on Ethereum on yahoo news and I was intrigued. I started learning about how the blockchain worked open source knowledge is not hard to access.
I moved to Kanas City and got divorced at the same time covid 19 shut down the world. I then was hit by a drunk driver in a stolen car at a high rate of speed and suffered a traumatic brain injury.
The recovery from the accident took me 2 years. I went to the Ethereum Denver conference in 2023. That trip was an unlock.
I decided then to start Digital Dreams in Kansas City and begin my work. This technology allows a new way to retain provenance, as well as protecting data rights and authorship for the long term.
My work as a researcher and curator combines this conviction with practical guidance: I help museums, collectors, and private spaces understand, acquire, and integrate digital art thoughtfully, bridging technical infrastructure with curatorial and design sensibility while keeping it uncomplicated.
The work I curate lives at the edge of perceptio
I excel in creating cultural interactions that enhance the senses using digital techniques to replicate real-life encounters.
What draws me to this territory isn't the technology as much as what happens neurologically when a viewer encounters something their brain doesn't yet have language for. The technology is a tool for presentation of a feeling. Both from the artist and the machine.
